About IIMSAM:

The Intergovernmental Institution for the use of micro algae Spirulina against malnutrition (IIMSAM) is an Autonomous Entity within Article Five (5) of the Collaborative Inter-governmental Scientific Research Institute, Free Agreement for co-operation in scientific research and humanitarian use of micro-alga spirulina as food. Registered under United Nations Treaty Series No. 37542-37543, dated 12th June 2001; in accordance with the Article 102 of the Charter of the United Nations.IIMSAM was granted Inter-governmental Observer status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (Under United Nations Economic and Social Council Resolution 212/2003 5th of March 2003). Designated by the United Nations Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC) Under Rule 79 of the Rules & Procedure for continuing participation in the deliberations of the council on questions within the Scope of their Activities. IIMSAM is Mandated to disseminate Spirulina as a Humanitarian Instrument in fighting severe malnutrition worldwide. IIMSAM works to promote the use of Spirulina against severe malnutrition. IIMSAM maintains communication channels open with entities around the world.

IIMSAM has an International Panel of Experts that provide technological, scientific, and operational support and biological and engineering advice

Sheikh Mohammed role in IIMSAM:

As the Deputy Secretary General of IIMSAM, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Bin Ham Al Ameri plays an integral part of supporting the Office of the Secretary General and several activities in the UAE under the under the care of IIMASAM.

 

His remarkable efforts have helped further IIMSAM’s fight against malnutrition, not just in the Arab world, but globally as well. In Kenya, for instance, his strong support furthered the impact of the Sheikh Zayed Centre for Free Distribution of Spirulina, since its establishment in 2009.

The Secretary-General of IIMSAM, Ambassador Reemigio Maradona, said: “Sheikh Dr. Ibn Ham will be a great addition to supporting the institutional development and achieving the humanitarian goals. He is a scientifically qualified and qualified figure.
